Note to Australian/Overseas medical students seeking placements.

Salisbury Health Centre holds the primary health care contract for medical students in Christchurch with the Otago School of Medicine. For that reason we are unfortunately not in a position to provide placements to medical students at this time.

However you choose to make an appointment with us, whether by  phone, fax or email, a staff member will confirm the appointment details with you. If for any reason you do not receive confirmation promptly, please get back to us.

Salisbury Health is your conveniently located and established central city medical practice. As an active Pegasus Member practice we are able to offer all the extended primary care services this membership provides, such as:
  • Help with smoking cessation
  • Contraceptive advice
  • Special screening and support programmes for a variety of chronic medical conditions

We are happy to see casual patients with a sudden problem during working hours, and visitors to Christchurch

Whilst an appointment is advisable, we understand urgent and unexpected problems do happen, and welcome those who need to come in and see a doctor urgently. A booking may however save you time. Home or Hotel visits may also be arranged.

Some features of our practice:
  • Highly experienced general practice staff
  • Casual, regular and city- visitor patients welcome
  • Home/hotel visits available

In the above Google map Salisbury Heath Centre can be seen as two white roofs next to a larger square white roof (that of  Strategy House, previously known as the Tower Building) on the corner of Salisbury and Victoria Streets. You may also like to use the new Google Map street level feature ("View larger Map" and click on pedestrian icon on left) to see the carpark entrance.

The driveway, which leads to the carparks facing the back of the premises, can be seen between our Bulidng and the tower building on the corner. Please only use the designated patient parks, as outlined below. Unfortunately, owners of other carparks may clamp improperly parked vehicles.
